# Cores

> Tori's points program. Earn Cores by holding trUSD, staking strUSD, and using DeFi integrations.

## What are Cores?

Cores are points you earn for contributing to the growth of the protocol. You earn them by holding trUSD, staking strUSD, and participating in integrated DeFi protocols.

Cores represent your contribution to Tori. As the protocol evolves, they will factor into how early supporters are recognized. The form that takes has not been decided, and Cores are not a promise of any token or payment.

## Season 1

Season 1 began June 23, 2026 with the pre-deposit phase, which carried the largest boost the program plans to offer. That phase is complete: the vault has converted to the Ecosystem Vault.

## Emission rate

Emission rates are set per season. During Season 1's pre-deposit phase, the rate was 30 Cores per dollar per day.

## Pre-deposit boost

During the pre-deposit phase, Cores earned a 2x boost, the highest planned for the program. The phase has ended.

## Referral

Refer a friend and earn 10% of the Cores they earn. They keep all of theirs, and your bonus is added on top. There is no cap on how many people you can refer.
