# Quickstart

> Get started with Tori Finance in minutes

## Overview

Getting started with Tori is simple. You can go from zero to earning yield in just a few minutes.

  <Step title="Stake">Convert trUSD to strUSD to start earning yield.</Step>
  <Step title="Earn">strUSD accumulates yield automatically from our trading strategies.</Step>
  <Step title="Unstake">Request withdrawal when ready (7-day cooldown period).</Step>
  <Step title="Exit">Swap trUSD back to USDC or USDT.</Step>

## What You'll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

| Requirement     | Details                                                                           |

| **Web3 Wallet** | MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet |
| **Stablecoins** | USDC or USDT on Ethereum mainnet                                                  |
| **ETH for Gas** | A small amount of ETH to pay for transaction fees                                 |

## Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

<Steps>
  <Step title="Navigate to the App">Go to [app.tori.finance](https://app.tori.finance) in your browser.</Step>
  <Step title="Click Connect Wallet">Look for the **Connect Wallet** button in the top right corner.</Step>

  <Step title="Select Your Wallet">
    Choose your wallet provider from the list (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, etc.).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve the Connection">
    Your wallet will prompt you to approve the connection. Review the details and confirm.
  </Step>

  **Security Tip:** Always verify you're on the correct URL (app.tori.finance) before connecting your wallet. Bookmark
  the page to avoid phishing sites.

## Step 2: Get trUSD

Now you'll swap your stablecoins for trUSD, the base token that can be staked for yield.

  <Step title="Select Your Input Token">Choose either USDC or USDT as your input token.</Step>
  <Step title="Enter the Amount">Enter how much you want to swap. There's no minimum amount.</Step>

  <Step title="Approve Token Spending">
    If this is your first time, you'll need to approve the contract to spend your tokens. This is a one-time transaction
    per token.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the Swap">Review the transaction details and confirm the swap in your wallet.</Step>
  <Step title="Receive trUSD">Once confirmed, trUSD will appear in your wallet.</Step>

You just swapped your stablecoins for trUSD. trUSD is designed to track the value of USD and is the entry point to Tori.

## Step 3: Stake for Yield

Staking converts your trUSD to strUSD, the yield-bearing token.

  <Step title="Navigate to Stake">Click on the **Stake** tab in the app.</Step>
  <Step title="Enter Amount">Enter how much trUSD you want to stake. You can stake any amount.</Step>
  <Step title="Confirm Transaction">Review and confirm the staking transaction in your wallet.</Step>
  <Step title="Receive strUSD">You'll receive strUSD tokens representing your staked position.</Step>
</Steps>

**How yield works:** The value of strUSD relative to trUSD increases over time as yield is generated. You don't need to claim rewards. They're automatically reflected in the exchange rate.

  Let's say the current exchange rate is 1 strUSD = 1.00 trUSD.

  You stake 1,000 trUSD and receive 1,000 strUSD.

  After some time, the exchange rate increases to 1 strUSD = 1.05 trUSD due to accumulated yield.

  Your 1,000 strUSD is now worth 1,050 trUSD based on the new exchange rate.

  When you unstake, you'll receive 1,050 trUSD (minus the 7-day cooldown).

  **Fees:** A 10% performance fee is applied to strUSD yield. This fee is only taken from generated yield, not on the
  tokens you stake.

  **You're now earning Cores.** Check the **Activities** tab in the app for your Cores balance and referral link. See
  the [Cores page](/resources/cores) for how the points program works.

## Step 4: Unstake (When Ready)

When you want to exit your position, you'll need to unstake your strUSD.

  <Step title="Navigate to Unstake">Click on the **Unstake** tab in the app.</Step>
  <Step title="Enter Amount">Enter how much strUSD you want to unstake.</Step>
  <Step title="Initiate Cooldown">Confirm the transaction to begin the 7-day cooldown period.</Step>
  <Step title="Wait for Cooldown">Your request is now pending. After 7 days, you can claim your trUSD.</Step>
  <Step title="Claim trUSD">Return to the app after the cooldown and claim your trUSD.</Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  **Why the 7-day cooldown?** The cooldown period ensures proper liquidity management across the protocol. It allows the
  protocol to manage redemptions in an orderly manner without impacting other users.

## Step 5: Exit to Stablecoins

Once you have trUSD in your wallet (after claiming from unstaking), you can swap back to USDC or USDT.

  <Step title="Select trUSD as Input">Choose trUSD as your input token.</Step>
  <Step title="Select Output Token">Choose USDC or USDT as your output token.</Step>
  <Step title="Confirm Swap">Review and confirm the transaction.</Step>

Before using Tori, ensure you're taking proper security precautions:
